What was wrong with the tried and true method of what they did to most of the other jets ..... burn them , toss in grenades etc. Big and unnecesary effort to booby trap them , then tow or push them to a lake [ with the risk of the trap detonating before they got their and taking out half the ground crew]. Thought the Germans were logical and efficient folks !!
