WWII aircraft found off Cyprus

Pilot still aboard

Divers in northern Cyprus have discovered the wreck of a World War II British aircraft. The wreck, lying in 27m has yet to be identified, but the team says that the pilot's remains are still aboard. It is unlikely this would be a full skeleton as even bones disintegrate after only a few months underwater, but the actual details are at the moment unclear.

The British Embassy in Cyprus has been contacted so the remains can be officially handed over.

The wreck is said to be in good condition, but the depth and its remote location make long dives difficult and so findings will probably be quite slow.
