I think it has a lot to do with having family members or friends that were in WWII. People tend to be more interested in WWII aircraft if they can relate them to someone they know. Yes there are people out there that have the true love & interest in aviation that tend to be drawn naturally toward WWII aviation. My interest was spawned by father whom flew 111 combat missions in P-51's with the 9th Army Air Corp during WWII. I grew up loving Warbirds. I work in aviation maintenance for a living, & I am a life member of the CAF. I know that a lot of people study aviation history, that don't make a living working in it. Guess I am lucky, got a good job & a good hobby!
