Lottery Funding

Just a few points.. This is all my take on the situation, but it is generated from my own reading on the subject, reading between the lines, if anybody can add anything/clear things up then please let me know...

a) Tiger Tank.. I think the arguement that the Heritage Commission has is 'if we help fund the restoration of your aircraft to flying condition' and it crashes, not only has the money been wasted, but the artifact is lost'.. However, as far as a Tiger Tank goes... The only thing to worry about the long term impact of this artifact is a squadron of Typhoons with rocket firing projectiles and there ain't any of those....

b) RAF Museum - The previous arguement was that all aircraft at the RAF Museum were on the charge of the RAF/MoD and not the Museum. The Heritage Commissions arguement was then... 'they are yours, you have billions of pounds of money, you fix them'. However, they have now had a chang of ownership to the RAF museum and as such this organisation can make a claim for funding from this souyrce. This was not an issue with IWM as it is not 'owned' by the MoD.

As far as it goes now, if the RAF Museum made an application for funding restoration efforts of the Hampden and Halifax.. Why oh Why are they BOTH Handley Page.... Then they might get a better hearing...
