Unfortunately this wreck is now rotting outside and several parts have been stolen. Perhaps museums like that , with little finance should consider selling such recoveries to those who can look after them ....
There is apparently still quite a few wrecks in Balaton , which was in the area of very heavy fighting late in the war. Many were recovered postwar and scrapped.
A few years back a Ju88G was recovered and the wreck is now held by MVT in Berlin. I believe several 109s and La5 aircraft have been located - condition , to me at least is unknown.
Certainly a very big stretch of water and possibilities abound. A fully ladened Ju52 was sen to crash into the lake by locals .......
