Pat,
I've been fortunate to spend over a week here so far this trip. Most of my government work is done in the early mornings, leaving the rest of the time to play tourist. It also helps if you don't mind sleeping about three hours a night so you don't waste any time.
I also can't say enough about the metro train system here in D.C. With the exception of Quantico, Manasas and the Dulles airport, nearly everything I've seen this trip has been within a couple of blocks of a metro station.
I'll be here until Wednesday so I'm gonna try to fit in a few more things while I'm here.
