Talking to the guys at Gardermoen they seemed to have tried all avenues with the local officials , as far as guaranteeing the safety of the water and cleaning up any / all spills that may occur from the machines during recovery ... and after all they have a good deal of experience at this sort of thing already.
Being a museum they , as is usual , have very little funding and cannot offer to shell out money to accomodate the local populations whims . All funds available would be used in the recovery process and restoration.
