THE ORIGINAL "PORKY II" WAS A P-38H-1-LO s/n 42-66506 FLOWN BY MAJOR EDWARD "PORKY" CRAGG CO OF THE 80TH FTR. SQD. 8TH FTR. GP. 5TH AF FLYING FROM FINSCHAFEN, NEW GUINEA. HE SCORED 15 CONFIRMED KILLS AND 4 PROBABLES AND WAS DECLARED MIA DEC. 26, 1943 OVER CAPE GLOUCESTER, NG. HE WAS AWARDED THE DSC, SS, 5 DFCs, 7 AIR MEDALs, PURPLE HEART AND 2 DIST UNIT BADGES. THEY COULDN'T HAVE PICKED A MORE DESERVING HERO!
