Warbirds in the strangest places...

It always cracks me up and often saddens me when I discover warbirds used in film or television, especially when they are out of place or completely wrong. My latest discovery along these lines occured while watching the Battlestar Galactica boxed set. The prop people used a PBY forward fuselage as the basis for the nose of a smugglers shuttle. The turret was faired over but there is a good close up and you can't mistake those curves.
Its sad to look back and see this, but it was 1978 and things were a bit different. Does anybody have a list of airframes owned by Universal Studios? Probably an extreme long shot.
