Jim,
I flew down thru Baja this year just for the fun of it and had no real itinerary, figuring that there would be plenty of places to land and hang out in Baja ect...
Turned out Baja is a fairly desolate place, with few places that accomodate a loaded B-36TC Bonanza. One of the more desolate places is Guymas, and it is bare! There are two sets of runways, an old airport and a new one. Mexico is really wierd, as they built an INCREDIBLE airstip at Guymas, huge runways, taxiways and ramp areas, but no other buildings, structures roads or anything. Its strange to see an international sized airport, in the middle of the scrub desert with nothing on it, planes or otherwise. Anyway, if they buried the remmnants of a B-25 there, I hope its not under the airport. If you took the money for the trip and spent it at Aero Trader's desert lot, you could probably get a nice static. Now passing thru/over Guymas, or what there was of it convinced me to find greener pastures elsewhere...and I did! But thats not for these pages!

;) JOE
