Hi Folks,
Made a point of tracking this machine down recently and spent a day with Bob DeFord going through the details of the MJ-100. In the air the aircraft looks stunning, performs well, sounds great.
Technically, this is not s Spitfire but what it does is offer the would-be Spitfire owner a very convincing facsimilie of similar handling and performance to the original, but with an achievable entry level price and of course, a much less onerous insurance burden should you wish to take out hull cover.
Bob has moved the aircraft from Prescott, north of PHX to Coolidge, south of PHX.
The range of options for the would-be full-scale Spitfire builder is quite broad and a little complex. An in-depth article on this subject has been under development for some time and will be appearing in the next edition of Classic Wings.
Cheers for now,
GMO
