Ah. Steve T's fave pet peeve again. CAvM's new storage building will put a roof over RD867's head...but yes indeed, 1969-2005 or so is a mite long to park a Beau in the open. Or most of a Beau, at least; she arrived from the UK sans engines/cowls/props et cetera (having been on show complete at the famous 1968 RAF Golden Jubilee Review at Abingdon), and the absence of those substantial components has kept the Beau from becoming a project sooner. It did and does mystify me though that RD867 is outside when more common and durable stuff is indoors. But: rained-on Beaufighter aside, I won't say much negative about CAvM, whose collection overall is one of the world's finest. (And I should be seeing it tomorrow morning, all going well, when "A Flight" of the WIX Meltdown convenes there...)
Cheers
S.
