Point taken! (Of course I was speaking tongue-in-cheek in any case)...My favourite local Mustang was one of the IDs you refer to, at least once and quite possibly more than that. 44-74130 (or is it 73140, I forget) is still flying--twenty years after being totally destroyed by fire after a forced landing in Ontario (I have photos of the remains...not pretty). I've since heard that even before the forced landing that Mustang may have changed IDs once. As you say, things are not always as they seem. (Not in dispute was that the late lamented "BAU" was one beautiful Mustang...)
