I dug out the information re: Iranian Aircraft in the Sept 2001 issue of Aircraft Illustrated...

For those who missed it and to paraphase the article..

"Iran Classic Aircraft Appeal 2001

The Iranian Aviation Museum, located near Mehrabbad International Airport has put two exhibits on show recently a T-6 Harvard and a Chipmunk.

However, Museum lacks funds expertise to bring about major projects.

They have a F-84 Thunderjet & F-86 Sabre and captured Iraqi Mil-24 are in store.

There is also surviving Hawker Audax, one Hawker Hurricane two seat trainer and a P-47 Thuderbolt in storage in a air force depot which need to be assembled from parts.

Help does not need to be financial (though they would not say no!) More techical, they need experts, such as retired technicians who are familiar with them to help re-assemble these aircraft.

They would not be able to pay for the help, but were willing to pay travel to Iran, abnd provide free lodging..

The contact detail was given as Kian Mokhtari and a phone number and email address were supplied.
