The turret bears no similarity with any British turret I've ever seen. I'm not claiming to be an expert but I'm restoring several Frazer-Nash turrets and also have a Boulton-Paul Type C.

The construction is nothing like you'd find in a British turret. On both F.N. and B.P. turrets, most of the mechanism was fitted on and around the turret rings and associated structures, leaving the cupola as a simple and light-weight structure constructed mainly of square section and L-section alloy framework, with multiple glazed panels.

This turret reminds me of one owned by a pal here in North-West England. He claimed it to be a H.E. 177 rear turret and I couldn't argue with him.

I'd work along those lines, German or American maybe, British almost certainly not.

Regards all.
