A fiery reply if I ever read one!

No, I have no inside information, but I still don't think that the text supports the existence of a Mk V project reading.

The easiest explanation for the dangling "a project" is a typing error.

If there were both a Mk V flier and a Mk V project, the two would have been joined by "and" rather than separated by a comma. On the other hand, seeing that the listing is by mark, it could be argued that the project is from a variant comprised between V and IX, i.e. VI, VII or VIII.

Now any of those would be worth seeing, in the air or on the ground!
