Hi All
Just received my copy of April 04 Flypast and they report that the sole surviving Beverley at the Museum of Army Transport will not be going to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington but that the highest sealed bid came from Fort Paull Armouries at Hull.
I am unaware of this facility and the article states that the only major aviation artifact currently on site is a SAL Bulldog cockpit so I wonder what experience the people involved have, in looking after such a major airframe?
Also, there is no mention as to whether or not she will be displayed under cover and and Hull being coastal, I fear that we could be discussing the demise of this airframe in a few years time!
Here's hoping that my fears will be unfounded...
Tony
