Thanks for the "Malta Flypast" info. I only have no. 5.
The combat took place on 31 July 1940.
"Timber" Woods in (apparently) N5520 shot down Antonio Chiodi (my subject) in a CR.42 (serial to be discovered).
Luigi Filippi in a CR.42 (to be identified) shot down Peter Hartley (in N5519).
Chiodi crashed into the sea and died.
Hartley bailed out, was recovered with severe burns and survived.
