Pretty sure that P-40 is the one that was pieced together with Bollingbroke and Harvard bits and displayed in the owner's yard in Canada (until he dissapeared one evening, some say picked up by a UFO). It later went to Bob Diemert and was 'restored' to flying condition, still using the non-standard parts, and with he gear welded in the down position (!). It was later sold to Ron Fagen, and was damaged on the delivery flight (while clearing customs at Fargo I think?), after which a full rebuild to stock condiution was instigated. The Curtiss Hawk Factory in Georgia did the work, and the aircraft was theb registered N4420K. It was to Gerry Beck, but has now gone back to Fagen in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Dick Phillips, can you fill in the blanks on this? Jim
