Duxford has lost the La9, P40 and Corsair from the Old Flying Machine Company, and a Spitfire that had been imported from France a couple of years ago fo an American owner. In addition a Spitfire Mk9 and Harvard went to Canada earlier in the year. The P40 and La9 were always destined to return to New Zealand as it was very difficult to certify them in the UK.
I'd be suprised to see another P38 at Duxford any time soon.
However there is a lot more going on in the UK away from Duxford and the scene is still healthy, just the way things are operated is slowly changing.
