I'm sorry you feel you wasted your time responding to me... :-( Some of my post was tonge-in-cheek, but most of it was serious.

Just in case you don't know, I am one of those Air Museum volunteers. I agree that it is a worthy cause.

It was my understanding that PoF went to some of the local shows on a reciprocity agreement (their planes come to Chino in exchange) rather than for cash. Perhaps that is one of the reasons they didn't often stray far from southern California (in the past).

I do know however that Ray Dieckman was lamenting not taking his Corsair on last years' tour because of the appearance fees.

Are there any mid-west or east coast museums that will be doing a west coast tour anytime soon?

I am still wondering if the fees will ever make it viable to "campaign" a privately owned aircraft on the display circuit for a profit. Can a reasonable return on investment be made?
