Do not miss the San Diego Aerospace Museum in Balboa Park! Its a very interesting place and you will not be disappointed. Also their annex for the planes they dont have room for is in El Cajon just outside San Diego. The Flying Leatherneck Museum is also very close by at MCAS Miramar. The March Field Air Museum is about 90 minutes north on interstate 15 but dont go during the afternoon rush hour. Then if you want to go a little further Chino is not too far away from March Air Museum.
