: The aircraft deserves plenty of care after so many years
: outside, (how many years?).
It went to the museum in 1966, so that is a long time in the elements.
: Is the aircraft currently indoors or if not will it be
: worked on indoors?
It will be going under the roof once the building is complete. I am not sure when that will be, but it was supposed to be done by now. The December to March are such lousy months for construction in Canada.
: I noticed in the photo section a photo of many of the volu
: nteers. I couldn't spot anyone under 30 years old if not
: 40.
I suspect the photo was taken the day there was a tour of the plane. That was on a week day... a day when I was at work... a day when most pre-retirees were at work. Since they then the project has figured out they need to be a little more inclusive. Don't worry... they do appreciate the value of including the younger generations and are considering different ways to pass on skills before the mentors are gone.
: It's a shame younger individuals can't be encouraged
: to take up historical aviation. What will the future hold
: with no one filling the ranks?
There are plenty that want to help out, but with a full time jobs, young families, mortagages, etc... It is not easy.
Anyway, PNS has the right idea. I have been told that family and work come first, and whatever time I can spare after that will be very much appreciated.
