Hi Paul,
The pictures gave me chills, and made me cry. To actually see this plane coming together after all that has happened, is so very moving, and simply amazing! My Dad was moved to tears! He was the last family member to see Dean fly this plane back to Bartow, from his leave here in PA, just days before the crash. It will be 60 years this November that she crashed! Looking at the pictures, I could almost see Dean smiling from the cockpit!
Now, the questions... The page that the pictures were on said they were taken in November, 2002? She must be quite a bit more complete now? Where will she be unveiled? Is the history of the plane going to be a part of her, or will she be painted to look like something else? Will everyone know her origins? What is she going to be used for? I realize you may not have all the answers, but any information will be greatly appreciated! Please email me off board if you prefer.
