The crashed Sabre is certainly in Italy, because the car is a Fiat (I think a 1100) with an Italian plate. If you could read the second letter in the plate, it would give a clue to the city of registration (and presumably the general area where the pic was taken). CA=Cagliari (hence Decimomannu range?), CT=Catania (hence Fontanarossa, 1957 being to early for Sigonella), CE=Caserta (hence Grazzanise ..) and so on.
But the question is which other photos might have been taken in Italy, and why. Might this have been a delivery flight for some of the 179 Canadair Sabres given to Italy, about ten of which still exist today, including the one at Hendon?
