most recent data I have seen shows that depending on what section you are trying to salvage from and the in situ vitrification up there of some of the "burial sites" you would get either a lump of metal which has been melted and formed into a freeform shape along with the surrounding materials or a piece which has been irradiated, cooled, then dumped into a pit and buried along with lumps of much more potent radiactive debris.
salvage from those sites I really don't thinhk would be too viable especially with a timeframe for some of the areas up there of being effectively no more than transit time for safe exposure. I guess if you can grab the airframe in passing and get govt approval to even go into there, no easy feat in itself these days, you might have a chance.
Now, I have never seen any information about any lincolns being buried at woomera(definately not an aussie one anyway), nor have I seen any about hornets being buried anywhere up there or even being anywhere near there. where are you getting this information from?
