I really like your ideas. A helmet is high on my "to buy" list, and will be the first thing I grab this spring. HGU-55 it'll be, gotta look sharp for the ladies!! ;o)
But I want to project an image of "I know what am doing" when flying with a Warbird, as to show that people operating them are pros, not wannabees. Same thing when I go flying in a Beaver with the old man, I want to look like a bush pilot, eh!
I reckon that Nomex won't do good if you're not conscious, but it should give you the few seconds you need to get out of a bad situation. Good maintenance is a great way towards safe flying in the first place, and we are already achieving this.
I'm not currently doing accros, but am planning to start doing some, I know a guy who's very good at them, he flies with the Northern Lights in their Hunters from time to time! So he'll make a good coach for that and formation flying. Although for formation flying, I'd like Mario Hamel (ex-Snowbird!) to show me, now that would be a great start! So I'll have another chute fixed for the Fw and the P-3.
I'll wait to see if other guys will join in with their inputs.
Rob, any pictures of that Tiger of yours?
