Like George, I also visited the Flying Tigers Air Museum in Paris, TX, but earlier than the '80s. It was 1975 and I was twelve years old. It was quite memorable, because I received my first airplane ride there that day. I had a choice between a T-6 and a Stearman. I really liked biplanes, so I chose the Stearman. The price was a whopping ten bucks for either.

I used to have a few pictures from that day, but I haven't come across them in years. They were taken with a really crappy 126 camera.

There were many warbirds there, including a P-51 and B-17 ("Balls of Fire", now owned by Kermit Weeks). There was also a P-38, which had been in an accident.
