: We miss a Blenheim, that's all.
They do have a Bolingbroke hanger queen in very good shape, so that base is covered.
: A B-17 would be good yes, but it wasn't as used as the
: Halifax has been. Better get a Wellington in this case.
Agreed, but the purpose of the Canada Aviation Museum is not to just collect Canadian related types, but rather items that represent developments in aviation history. To that point a B-17 would be a nice prize, and the RCAF did operate a limited number.
This is all nice to talk about, but I might as well talk about buying a B-17 myself (i.e. not chance that is going to happen). The museum really doesn't have that much $$$. The North Star project needs to raise the funds for a restoration hanger. Does anyone have $33,000,000 CDN to spare? On top of that the current expansion will get the outside planes under a roof, but that is just about it. There isn't room to shelter any new aquisitions. Even if a Wellington could be found, there would be no place to put it.
Nice to dream anyway.
Regards,
Mike
