Location: Mount Comfort Airport, Indianapolis, IN
Date: September 2001
Time: Approx 7:30 pm

A terrible thunderstorm has descended on the airport. All of the pilots and crew rush into a newly built hangar to seek refuge from the deluge. Many of said crew and pilots park their airshow provided crew cars on the ramp in front of the brand new hangar, with brand new landscaping, lighting etc.

Subject Church with his family on board the crew car, begins to back his car slowly away from the hangar. Visibility is nearly nonexistant due to the rain. Subject Church goes off the side of the ramp and backs over a very small plastic junction box attached to a little spotlight aimed at the FBO owner's sign. FBO owner happens to be in his big dual axle pickup truck nearby. He sees Subject Church back over junction box. Subject Church exits the car to check on the damage. Said owner of FBO comes unglued and starts berating Subject Church for having his car on the ramp (despite the fact that there are about two dozen cars on the ramp) Owner of FBO screeches away from the ramp in a huff. Entire group of warbird pilots observes Subject Church being verbally assaulted by the FBO Manager (who obviously needs anger management classes)

That evening at dinner, one of the intrepid warbird pilots pins Subject Church with the call sign "Jbox". Despite his continued protests, his call sign prevailed.

If you visit MQJ on the east side of Indianapolis, look for the Jim "Jbox" Church memorial junction box on the lawn on the east side of the ramp (in the grassy knoll area :)) A few culprits labeled it with a Sharpy (names unmentioned)...and it was still there in 2002.
