Not a chance. As I understand it, only one Canadair Argus was lost in service, crashing near Summerside, PEI. I believe that all the rest were scrapped except for the five preserved examples.

Are you sure this isn't a Fairchild Argus (RAF designation for Fairchild 24)? Or perhaps a misidentified Canadair CL-44?
