I don't post to the board too often, but I do lurk and speak up occasionally when my chain gets yanked.

I've been a volunteer with Lone Star Flight Museum since 1995. I've done anything needed there from empty oil drain pans to marshaller to air show chairman. I'm a crew chief for LSFM's B-17 "Thunderbird". I'm also qualified on the "Zamboni" (floor cleaning machine).

I have a PP-SEL and G. I'm also involved with AAF living history. Our living history group has been involved with three episodes of "Heavy Metal" on The History Channel.

I've enjoyed working on warbirds so much that when I got laid off from my tech job last summer, I decided that the time was right to get my A&P certificate. So, now I'm a starving apprentice mechanic for Rowan Drilling's corporate aviation department. Besides the newer planes, we operate a Convair 580 (circa 1958), which is a mix of old and newer technology.

My wife is a captain for Continental Express and also flies right seat (for now) in LSFM's B-25. She also holds an A&P certificate and works on the museum's warbirds. We met at a local soaring club.
