In reply top WIX er WARBIRD PARTICPIATION posted by JACK COOK on Fri Jan 16, 2004 06:31:15 PM
My first airshow was before my first birthday and my parents say I've been interested in it ever since... Right now I haven't been able to get involved with any restoration groups or warbirds teams since I don't know of any close enough to me that I can afford the time investment (not that I'm not willing if something close comes up). As a 21 yr old student I just can't afford to drive for an hour up and an hour back on a regular basis to get to the closest CAF wing in San Marcos. I have gotten to participate as a AAF reenactor at several events however and several folks such as some from the LSFM and the San Marcos wing of the CAF have been very nice to let me help out some when there are airshows nearby.
This is a great site to keep up with what's going on in the warbirds arena and keeping the old planes flying as memorials to those who flew them in defence of our freedoms.
