WOW!! WHAT A GREAT RESPONSE. I'M GLAD TO KNOW THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHERS OUT THERE WITH THIS WARBIRD SICKNESS.
WHEN I WAS 10 MY DAD TOOK ME UP TO JACK LENHAHARDT'S STRIP TO SEE HIS FM-2, T-6 AND BILL COMPTON'S F6F-3 (PICTURE IN THE GALLERY). THAT WAS IT MY LIFE SINCE HAS BEEN WARBIRDS.
I WAS SEMI-ADOPTED MY A T-6 OWNER AT SALEM AND FOR 10 YEARS SPENT ABOUT EVERY SPARE MINUTE WITH ED AND N5488V. A 15 YEAR OLD FLYING THE FRONT OF A T-6 IS A BIT UNUSUAL. TALK ABOUT HEADS TURNING WHEN WE WENT SOMEPLACE! I SPENT 10 YEARS IN THE NAVY HAS A P-3 AIRCREWMAN. ALSO SURVIVED 3 CARRIER CRUISES. GOT IMVOLVED WITH JIM MORGAN ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND NOW WE'VE GOT THE B-25 AND 3 T-6S. HE HAD 12 T-6s BUT DECIDED THAT WAS TOO MUCH. WE LOVE GOING TO SHOWS AND SHOWING THE 25 OFF. I'VE GIVEN UP COUNTING HOW MANY RIDES WE'VE GIVEN. I LOVE HAVING A SPARE SEAT AND JUST INTO THE EVER PRESENT CROWD AND GRABBING SOMEONE FOR A RIDE.
MEETING NEW FRIENDS, TALKING TO VETS AND JUST PLAIN GABBING UNDER THE WING AT A SHOW MAKES OUR B-25 EXPERENCE ALL THE RICHER. IF YA'LL EVER SEE A SHINY 25 WITH A SILLY RABBIT ON THE NOSE STOP BY AND SAY HI. WHO KNOWS, WE MAY GO FLYING!
