I went to my first airshow when my mom was pregnant with me in 1967. I didnt get to see much but I got in for free. My dad and uncle were active members in the CAF and we travelled to Harlingen every year for their huge warbird shows. I started taking pictures with a 110 camera and spending my allowance on developing. Over the years I made some pretty incredible shows with the CAF and then in Breckenridge with Howard Pardue's events. I have had the opportunity to fly in PT-17s, BT-13, T-6s, B-17s, B-24, B-25, C-47, TBM, P-51, and water landings in a Goose and Albatross. I eventually upgarded to 35mm and took thousands of pictures over the years. I got involved as a marshaller with Lone Star Flight Museum which satisfied my need to stand out in the hot sun all day getting as close to a runnig warbird as I could. I switched to digital camera two years ago and have been happy ever since. I started working with Scott trying to contibute to this website with pictues and more recently articles. Growing up in a family where my dad and his two brothers were commercial piots and my great uncle flew Hellcats in WW2, I felt the calling myself in the early 90s to persue flying. I am now a commercial pilot with a flight instructor certificate. I have flown 1,400 hours in the past two years as a banner tow pilot across the US to build my tailwheel time experience. I am looking for a job getting paid $100,000 a year to fly P-51s for pleasure, but I will take whatever I can find at this point. ;)
Anyone need a pilot?
