Actually that is one thing I like about this board. My browser (MS Internet Explorer 6) keep a history of each page visited, and each post here is a different pages. So the posts that I have read show up as a different colour and I avoid them. It makes it rather easy to find the new posts that way and avoid the previously viewed ones.
However... this board gets very much traffic, and sometimes after a few days all you are are a page or two of new posts.
