Hi there
No doubt you all spend a lot of time in front of a computer doing all sorts of aviation work.
Well over Christmas - once fully bloated on goodies - I settled down to getting my thousands of Aircraft photos in some sort of order. Most of you will have experianced the agony of sorting through file after file working on exotic storage and categorising menus and deciding on naming conventions etc.
Well once you have all of these pics in whatever order you decide works for you - what do you do with them.
Being a Christmas couch potato I decided it would be cool to create a multi Media DVD of them all!!!!!!!!!!1
I am lucky enough to have a DVD burner which are relatively cheap these days ($200 Australian gets you a good one)
I then looked around the market for software which converts Photos into DVD slideshows with Music and proper presentation menus.
You can decide which one works for you but I use Ulead DVD Picture show 2.
Once started you can but hundreds of pics on a DVD in various categories/Menues with Hi Fi sound tracks and they actually look great - not at all like I created them!!!
The best bit is that you can also add video clips to your masterworks - The quality of the pics is excellent as is the video and sound. They are also better to store and send to friends than video or paper copies. You can store the actual images on the DVD as an option.
Anyway thats what I did over Christmas - I know I need to get a life ?????
One word of caution- Remember other peoples photos are theirs in copyright so don't kock off other people work without asking - if you are sharing or selling stuff - it is not nice nor is it legal.
If anybody wants to get some idea about this drop me a line and I will help if I can.
Kindest regards to one and all
John Parker
