In reply top Halifax? Tony, tell me more.... N/T posted by Cees Broere on Thu Jan 15, 2004 02:38:12 AM
I initally referred to my correspondence last year, with a very closed mouthed german diver.
I got a reply from him last night, that the "Halifax" is in fact, a Sterling.
The aircraft appears to be mostly sunken into the bed of the Baltic. He confirms the 2nd aircraft is a Lancaster, his comments were "Condition is good" I'm trying to find out what good means, whether thats "In a thousand pieces, but good" or You can see it's a Lancaster, the condition is good. He says there are lots of aircraft in that area, but the Fighter types are difficult to spot, as they have been in a lot of cases, almost swallowed up by the sea bed.
I sent him another email last night, more when he replies. He does confirm the Lancaster is close to the Grosser.
