When I visited the USAFM in July 1995 and July 1996 I had the good fortune of seeing one of their A6Ms undergoing restoration. It was looking good when I saw it, and I assume it complete by now.
The question is... Does anyone know the c/n of the airframe that I saw? I have seen two c/n's quoted, 3148 and 51593. So I assume it is one of these. I believe they had two "airframes" as I remember seeing the center fuselage section of another on display in a large glass case in 1995. So I believe this accounts for the other airframe.
Can any of our Dayton correspondents clear-up the question of which airframe it was I saw undergoing restoration?
TIA,
Mike
