Hi guys,
thru people able to monitor flightplans it has been noted that a few days ago C-119 N15501 was ferried to Namibia; quite an achievement for such a vintage transport and a tribute to its performance.
Unfortunately, H&P refused to comment on any of this (flight originated from KGEY). The secrecy is beyond me.
Fellow aviation enthusiasts have their contacts in "Hollywood" as well and it seems N15501 is involved in a remake of "Flight of the Phoenix".
N15501 is a bit of a mystery as well, like more of those C-119s at GEY. This was quoted to me:
Ilooks like one I photographed last spring with a white jetpack (01 on right cowling) except they have
installed a 'regular' nose in lieu of the rcaf one. Note, it had 3 blade props and all rcaf were 4 but etched under the pilots window was 22130. Am I opening up an old debate?
S/n 10955 ?
Meanwhile H&P did quite a job to get this N15501 to Namibia and I sure hope they don't leave it there after its moviework is done...
