That's certainly one opinion...I wonder if the guys and gals who originally put the old girl together at Brewster might have a second opinion on that.
Another poster remarked on her "original markings" as being Finnish. On the contrary, the Finnish markings would have been secondary at best. I was under the impression that a theoretical "peeling off the layers" would reveal an original cover of Brewster Aircraft Factory primer and paint. IMHO ones "home" is where one is born or created: USA for the Buffalo; Finland for the Humu.
I, for one, am perfectly content if she is restored and displayed in Finland. The implication that some kind of "travesty" has been committed if displayed anywhere else I find more than slightly melodramatic.
If we can't find common ground that the country of origin of any aircraft would be a suitable location for its display, then perhaps we can agree that this Buff deserves to be restored to a condition as pristine as humanly possible.
