Well, I don't know if there are/were any Mustangs that ever shot down a Corsair (not counting friendly fire), but FAH609 sitting down yonder has at least 1 maybe 2 Mustangs downed.......
The vs. argument of these 2 planes will never be settled since they are both so AWESOME. Mr. Snodgrass gives a good detail of the +' & -'s of dogfight performance between the 2. Just imagine, last July he & Mr. Read had to flip a coin to determine who flew the Corsair or Mustang to Oshkosh. No loser there!
