: Mike,
:
: The MiGs were three birds that were imported from Poland b
: y a member of NWM. He had a MiG-15, MiG-17 (LIM-5), and M
: iG-21. When the Museum moved the MiG-17 disappeared, and
: the MiG-21 went to Texas.
The owner of the 17 and 21 was/is Jon Blanchette... he imported the two of them for restoration, but because the 17 was too much to handle, he decided not to touch the 21 for the time being. He is not a pilot, just likes working on them.
The 15 was owned by Dewight Cartwright and I know he sold the plane and bought an L-39. The L-39 had an engine fire and is now sitting stored in the old 1941 HAG hangar at Geneseo Airport in need of some serious TLC.
I think the 21 is in Elmira on loan to NWM by Blanchette, but I don't know where the 15 is now.

Both were back in the NWM hanga
: r a year or so ago. The MiG-17 is under restoration to fl
: ying shape and is N620PF. I believe the MiG-21 was donate
: d to NWM. The MiG-15UTI (LIM-2) was restored to flying co
: ndition before the move and I think is now N15MU. It did
: appear at a Batavia show one year.
