Agreed we need untiy on this but I do not condone simply trampling the heritage of another country into the weeds eithe for personal or even historic gain based on the fact people wantr these things. what you are advocating when you say just go in and steal them is basically piracy against a sovereign nation, even if it is unrepentantly corrupt.
Now, if the airframes were deeded to the PNG people as of the death of the primary retriever to be used for heritage displays or whatever or even to earn tourism dollars. then I am all for it. as long as the people of PNG or wherever are getting a gain from it in the long term instead of simply ripped off completely.
