This past Saturday the Chicago Tribune posted a notice in the obit section telling of the passing of George Elliott Jr age 85. Mt Elliott was manning the radar on Dec 7th,1941 on the north coast of Oahu when he detected the Japanese planes on the way to bomb Pearl Harbor and other military installations on the island. When Mr. Elliott phoned in to report the large amount of blips on his radar screen he was told not to worry about it. Not too many of us get to witness a moment in time which literally changes the course of history but George Elliott sure did! Rest in peace.
