Here is what I have on the aircraft , as you say since I wrote this it has changed hands. If you want to see a photo of the wreck pre recovery you will have to get Classic Wings Vol.10, No.1

Messerschmitt 109E-7 wk.nr.1983 , Red ? of 5./JG5
Shot down on the 24.01.42 following combat with the Hurricanes of 2./ 760.IAP
VVS 14A at Kovda and made a belly landing , the pilot surviving . The wreck was
salvaged in 1993 . The aircraft , consisting of the centre section , engine and wings ,
was sold to Hamburg collector Eberhard Thiesen . Presently being restored to fly and
well advanced in the workshop of Craig Charleston. It will incorporate parts of Me
109E-3 wk.nr.0854 , lost following air combat on 19.04.42 whilst operating with 2./JG5 The remains of this high impact crash were recovered from the shores of Podgornoe
Lake , Lista Bay in 1996 , and although completely destroyed , many small parts remained in excellent condition.
