Mike, Here's a picture similar to yours, taken at NAS Alameda during Oct. 1995. It is Reesman's MiG-17 as listed below, and the information for NX117BR is correct for your picture.
Here's a NTSB report for the one that was partially destroyed by fire on March 1, 1994. It currently resides with the Oregon Air & Space Museum at the Eugene Airport in Oregon
NTSB Identification: SEA94LA088 . The docket is stored in the (offline) NTSB Imaging System.
14 CFR Part 91: General Aviation
Accident occurred Tuesday, March 01, 1994 in AURORA, OR
Probable Cause Approval Date: 1/26/95
Aircraft: Mikoyan MiG MIG-17T, registration: N306DM
Injuries: 1 Uninjured.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED AN EXPLOSION IN THE TAIL OF THE MIG-17T. HE RETURNED TO THE FIELD AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT AN ALUMINUM FUEL LINE IN THE AFT SECTION HAD EXPERIENCED METALLURGICAL FAILURE. THE OWNER ADVISED ALL OTHER MIG-17 OPERATORS TO REPLACE THAT, AND OTHER, FUEL LINES WITH STAINLESS STEEL LINES.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows:
FAILURE OF A METAL FUEL LINE, RESULTING IN AN EXPLOSION.
: Roger Cain also emailed me and says the picture of the MiG
: -17 "...is of NX117BR, a Lim-5/MiG-17 mc/n 1C1529 is owned
: by Bill Reesman. ... ...The plane is now sponsored by Red

: Someone indicated that the MiG is now with a museum in Ore
: gon. I will try finding that museum and see if they have
: an ID for their MiG.
