Jack Lenhardt of Hubbard, Oregon restored a number of warbirds in the early 70's. In addition to his FM-2 (now owned by John Dimmer), he also restored a SNJ, Bill Compton's F6F-3, a Otter and a DC-3 which he flew off his 1000' strip in Hubbard! He'd start his takeoff on the road boardering the airport and make a slight dog-leg onto the runway for his takeoff. He is probably one of the foremost restoration experts on vintage helicopters. He owns 8-10 now and has restored numerous examples for both the Navy and Army aviations Museums. Lenhardt's Airpark was a great place for a kid to hang out in the 70s'!!!
