: I really don't know how much was left, but the Sea Fury th
: at Carey Moore was killed in, in 2001 had JR on the tail a
: nd a robins egg blue belly. I'm still looking through the
: Registry to find other possible answers.

"JR" on a Fury was the early station code for RNAS Eglinton; but two Furies have worn that code by coincidence, because Jack Rodgers of Illinois owned two Furies and had his initials painted on the fins of both.

From the photos I saw of N56SF after the tragic loss of Carey Moore on 8 July 01, not enough remained to form the basis of a rebuild. I concur, though, that sad as the loss of Carey was (and for us in southern Ontario it was a HUGE loss), Carey himself would probably rather the aircraft (or what remained of it) went into the rebuild of another Fury. He loved Warbirds and he loved flying...

: Oh and if she was in East Texas heading West then I bet th
: ere is a good chance she might be headed Breckinridge way.

That would make perfect sense whichever Fury this was a relic of...Mr Ezell being the southeast's Fury maven. Whether this is Carey's Fury, the other Rodgers one, or another one entirely, here's to wind under the wings of another Fury because of it; and here's to the fond memory of Carey Moore, too.
