Museum experiences more often than not depend on who you contact beforehand or bump into on the day. In the Air Training Corps I was always told "ask lots of questions, no matter how mundane".After several decades of visiting museums, being an 'anorak'and asking lots of questions (museum guides usually like to meet enthusiasts rather than the local high school outing)this approach has gotten me into the FAA Museum's Seafire, the RAF Musum Cosford's Spitfire XVI & Me 262, Southampton Hall of Aviation's Spitfire 24 plus every available cockpit at the de Havilland Museum at London Colney.
You might say that I've been lucky - I certainly do.
